GPS...

Global Positioning System…those darn things that ‘yell’ at you as you’re driving. But how often do we ignore that annoying voice because we think our way may be better and faster? Left turn ahead…approaching left turn…turn left…and you’ve missed it.  Now, you are lost, and your GPS is recalculating your route.
Recently, I’ve gotten very upset with mine. While recalculating a route, it told me that I should be going left and right at the same time. Sorry, but that’s just not possible. Clearly, it had no idea where to go.
If you’re like me, you throw the darn thing in the passenger’s seat and figure it out for yourself. Frustrated because you would have turned left if it had told you the name of the street. Why don’t we listen to something that knows where to take us? We think we know better…but who really knows every building in every city, or house and street number…there is only one person, God.
Here’s a new way to think about a GPS…try God’s Positioning System. Our God knows everything about us that there is to be known.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
“But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Psalm 33:11
Why try to go in and upset plans that have long before us been made? He is an all loving and all forgiving Father that is waiting for you to come back to Him. His plans for you still stand, it’s about us letting go and letting God.
Life lately has been about sitting back, and realizing that these are His plans, not mine. Everything that happens is for a reason.
